Aurora in Action takes
place on 18 and 19 June 2025 in Amsterdam and brings together student
s, teachers, researchers and social partners. During an international
Learning Lab and the Science with Society Festival, we will work on
sustainable solutions with real impact on education and society.
Aurora in Action - 18 & 19 June 2025 | Amsterdam
During Aurora in Action, we invite AURORA partners
from around the world to work together on social impact. This two-da
y event in Amsterdam is all about knowledge sharing, collaboration an
d strengthening community-university partnerships.
We will star
t on Wednesday 18 June at 13.00 with an Inte
rnational Learning Lab on sustainability in Community Servic
e Learning (CSL). Guest speakers and participants from countries incl
uding France, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Canada, the US, Benin, Ghana, Ta
nzania and Kenya will share their insights on embedding sustainabilit
y in education.
The firest confirmed speakers are:

he UNIAKTIV Service Learning Centre, University of Duisburg-Essen (Ge

- Eric Hertzler (joining online), Vice-Dean of International Relat
ions, IAE Paris-Est School of Management (UPEC, France)

Through inspiring presentations and interactive discu
ssions, we will explore how Community Service Learning contributes to
sustainable development and real-world impact.
On Thursday 19 June, the Science with Society Festival will take place at the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA). This festiv
al brings together residents, students, teachers, policymakers and ci
vil society organisations around pressing social issues such as energ
y transition, food, mental resilience and inclusive cities. Students
from the ICSL course will present their research and engage with expe
rts and civil society partners.
