Anthropology Day is coming up, a key event for anyone interested in anthropology and societal issues. This year’s theme centers on museum collections, restitution, and decolonial practices, offering space for reflection.
Organized with the Dutch professional association for anthropologists (ABv) and Wereldmuseum Leiden, the event reflects the ABv’s mission to support anthropologists across diverse fields in the Netherlands. The ABv also offers articles, events, vacancies, and working groups for those eager to engage with the discipline.
This year's program examines how anthropologists have contributed to debates around ethnographic collections and how they are rethinking their roles. From colonial collecting practices to decolonial collaboration with artists, scholars, and communities. Anthropology Day 2025, asks how the discipline can evolve and contribute to more.
