Her thesis, The Somatechnics of Contraception: How Bodily Experiences and Digital Environments are Co-Constituted, was selected by the jury as the best among nine nominated theses.
In her research, Liza combines qualitative interviews with large-scale analysis of TikTok videos to demonstrate how digital environments and bodily experiences influence each other in contraceptive choices. Her work offers innovative insights into the role of technology and social norms in intimate health decisions.
As the winner of this award, Liza is automatically nominated for the VU Master’s Thesis Award, the results of which will be announced during VU Education Day on March 5, 2026.
